this was re-posted on a site i visit, and i think it’s awesome:
A little creative/random rock-juice for those of you tired of thinking of band/album names and corresponding cover-art. It also doubles as an interesting commentary on how random rock-related names/titles and images are compared to years past, when you could guess the name of a song as soon as you heard the chorus. Debut albums were self-titled and record covers typically featured a photo of the band standing around staring at their own reflection in a puddle of water. It’s not like that much anymore.
This is fun.
1 – Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your new band or solo-act.
2 – Go to Random quotations: http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your next record.
(If you want to do this again, you’ll hit refresh to generate new quotes, because clicking the quotes link again will just give you the same quotes over and over again.)
3 – Go to flickr’s “explore the last seven days”, which is a randomly generated page of photos. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
Put it all together and see what you get.
i did it yesterday but i’m doing it again –
